Combine two of our favorite foods for a real treat. As you eat your shakshuka pizza you might think, “Why did it take so long for this to get invented?!”
This recipe is great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We spiced it Italian style with oregano, but you can use cumin if you prefer a Middle-Eastern vibe.
- Cook Time
- Prep Time
1 sheet puff pastry
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon oregano
Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper
2 ounces feta (about 1/2 cup)
Fresh parsley for garnish
- Place a large bowl over a strip of the puff pastry and cut around to shape the dough in a circle. Bake for 15 minutes on 400°F / 200°C.
- Meanwhile, bring a frying pan to medium head and add olive oil. Throw in the garlic and fry until golden. Pour in the canned tomatoes and spices. Stir and cook for 2 minutes. Place aside.
- Take the dough out of the oven and scoop the tomato sauce onto the cooked dough. Crack the eggs into a cup. Then make a small dent in the tomato sauce with a spoon and pour one egg into that spot. Repeat and top with feta.
- Broil for 3 minutes. Garnish with parsley leaves.
