Quick Caramel Sauce

This caramel sauce is almost too good to be true. So easy to make. Top off your ice  cream, chocolate cake, cheese cake, or anything else you can think of.

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1½ cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼ cup heavy cream


1. In a 1- or 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar, and then stir in the vanilla and cream.

2. Bring to a simmer and adjust the heat to maintain a slow simmer.

3. Simmer 5 minutes and serve immediately.
