Reap the many healthy benefits of drinking green tea and try my Iced Green Tea or one of the recipe variations below.

I gave up soda a long time ago, but still enjoy the bubbles. With Sparkling Green Tea, my go-to green tea becomes almost like a soda when mixed with sparkling water.

In Green Tea with Lemon and Ginger refreshing lemon and uber healthy ginger amp up my green tea for an energizing variation.

As if green tea wasn't pretty enough, we added frozen melon balls and took pretty to stunning. Follow any of the green tea recipes below.

Melon Balls: Scoop cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew, or other favorite melon into balls and freeze on a sheet pan for 1 hour. Scoop balls into a reusable freezer bag. Add to glasses or pitchers of iced green tea.

Ingredients

Iced Green Tea

  • 4 cups filtered or bottled water
  • 3 green tea bags

Sparkling Green Tea

  • 2 cups filtered or bottled water
  • 4 - 5 green tea bags
  • 2 cups sparkling water
  • Garnishes: lemon slices, mint leaves, honey

Green Tea with Lemon and Ginger

  • 6 cups water
  • 5 green tea bags
  • 1 (3-inch) chunk of fresh ginger, cut into ¼-inch thick coins
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • Garnish: mint leaves

Preparation

Iced Green Tea:

1. Bring water to a boil. Place tea bags in a large heatproof container.

2. Pour water over tea bags and allow to steep for 6 to 8 minutes. Discard bags.

3. Allow the tea to cool completely before refrigerating, or the mix will become cloudy. 

4. Serve over ice.

Sparkling Green Tea:

1. Bring water and tea bags to a boil. Turn off heat and allow to steep for 6 to 8 minutes. Cool mixture.

2. Add ¼ cup of green tea concentrate to tall glasses. Add sparkling water and ice.

Green Tea with Lemon and Ginger:

1. Boil water, tea, and ginger. Turn off heat and let steep for 6 to 8 minutes.

2. Discard bags and ginger. Cool tea.

3. Serve over ice with lemon slices and mint leaves.
