This beer batter will give a little extra tang to any dough-coated deep fried foods.

- 1 1/2 cupsServings
- 1 cup baking mix (like Bisquick)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup beer
- Oil, for frying
1. In a bowl, combine the baking mix, salt and egg. Slowly add the beer and stir until blended.
2. Coat foods thoroughly with the batter and deep fry until golden brown.
Tips: It's best to use fritter-size foods, or a little smaller. Avoid frying watery foods, like mushrooms in the batter; it just doesn't work well. Cauliflower and zucchini rounds are very good. So are chicken, hot dog bites, etc.
This recipe can be doubled or tripled.
