Ingredients

Chocolate-Bacon Matzah Crackle

  • 4-5 sheets matzah
  • 6 ounces kosher Grow & Behold Beef Bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 10 ounces non-dairy semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Fleur de sel for topping

Chocolate Dipped Bacon

Preparation

Chocolate-Bacon Matzah Crackle

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉.
  2. Place the matzah on a nonstick tray.
  3. Add the chopped Grow & Behold beef bacon to a frying pan on medium heat. Cook until crispy, about 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the bacon from the pan and add the brown sugar.
  5. Allow the sugar to dissolve (it doesn't need to dissolve completely), stirring often, for about 3 minutes. Be careful not to let the sugar burn.
  6. Immediately pour the brown sugar mixture on top of the matzah and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top, allow 5 minutes for them to melt, then spread evenly.
  9. Sprinkle the bacon on top and a few pinches of fleur de sel (if you're feelin' fancy!).
  10. Chill for 30 minutes or until chocolate it set. Store in the fridge to keep the chocolate from melting.

Chocolate-Dipped Bacon

  1. Place a few pieces of the Grow & Behold beef (or lamb!) bacon in a frying pan on medium heat. Cook until crispy, about 5 minutes.
  2. Set up a double boiler to melt the chocolate. All you have to do is add an inch of water to a pot and place a glass bowl on top, making sure the bowl doesn't touch the bottom of the pot. Place the pot on medium heat and add the chocolate to the bowl. Stir occasionally and remove from heat once chocolate is melted.
  3. Dip the bacon pieces in the melted chocolate then place on a non-stick tray or parchment paper. Sprinkle with chopped almonds, fleur de sel, or any other delicious toppings from the pantry.
  4. Chill for 30 minutes or until chocolate is set. Store this snack in the fridge so the chocolate doesn't melt.
