- 2 large naval oranges, washed well
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 package dark chocolate chips
1 Slice the ends off the oranges then cut off orange peel. Cut the peel into strips.
2 In a medium pot, bring water to a boil and cook for a few minutes. Then rinse and throw in boiling water again.
3 Prepare simple syrup of 1 cup water with 1 cup sugar and bring to a simmer. Add orage peels and cook for 1 hour with pot covered. Remove from the pot and place on rack to drain.
4 Melt chocolate in a bowl in a microwave for one minute, checking and stirring every 20 seconds (do not add water).
5 Dip the candied orange peels in the choclate, remove and lay it on parchment to harden.
