Ingredients

Bread

  • 1½ cups fat-free milk
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon gluten flour
  • 1/4 cup small pieces of almond paste E (not marzipan).
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 2 Tablespoons margarine
  • 1 tablespoon almond extract
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Glaze

  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract

Preparation

1. Combine all ingredients, in the order listed, in the bread pan of a bread machine.

2. Follow the instructions for your machine. Let cool.

3. In a medium bowl, mix glaze ingredients. Spread on bread. Top with sliced almonds.
