Dairy Crockpot Dishes – Win our Contest!

Publish date:

Maybe you’re like a friend of mine – a crockpot fanatic who has 6 crockpots: 2 meat, 1 dairy, 1 pareve, 1 Pesachdig and -- not sure what that last one is for. (Even she’s not sure.)

Truth to tell, I have only one crockpot, used exclusively for cholent until recently. So all the recipes I’ve given you for slow cookers over the past month have been either meat or vegetarian.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t go dairy with these recipes. Sprinkle cheese over the top of my Three Bean Chili just before serving and add grated cheese to the Curried Chickpea Stew.

In fact, you can add cheese to absolutely anything (kashrus allowing) and it adds instant zip!

When you make my White Bean Soup with Lemon and Garlic Cornbread – top the bread with sliced or shredded cheese, or make a simple garlic butter spread. Add a little sour cream for a garnish on the Mexican Black Bean Soup with Spiced Tortilla Chips, or top it with cheddar.

It happens that my fave cheese company is Anderson International. Their cheeses are wholesome, delish, hormone-free and RBST-free. Best of all, they have dozens of products to satisfy everyone: Cholov Yisrael (Natural & Kosher), stam (Les Petites Fermieres), and organic (Organic and Kosher) with a variety of types and flavors including Pepper Jack, Cheddar, Mozzarella, Brie, Camembert, Gouda and Muenster.

After I developed my own private addiction to these cheeses, I had a chance to meet and become friends with the owner of Anderson International – a fabulous French lady named Brigitte. She’s very serious about her cheese, but she’s also lots of fun, so she suggested a little contest.

How would you like to win a $50 assorted cheese package from Anderson? And there will be not one – but two -- lucky winners! All you have to do is leave me a cheesy comment. Anything! What’s your favorite dairy dish? Your favorite cheese?

Tell me about your Big Cheese – and good luck!

[Contest open to US residents only. Contest ends Monday February 28 2011 at 9 am. Winner will be chosen in a random drawing. Comments must include only KOSHER ingredients]
