My brother and I came up with this recipe together. He loves candy and wanted to use the Lemonade Mike and Ikes we had in a dessert. We decided on this biscotti because it is easy to make and they came out really delicious.

How To Make A Simply Gorgeous Cake

mike and ike decorated cake

December 12th 2013By Melissa Kaye Apter

I was given a fun challenge and asked to decorate a cake using Mike and Ike candies. I wanted to come up with something simple and fun to do, but something elegant that would really make a statement. I came up with this really dramatic pattern that looks really cool and complicated. It is actually a lot easier to do than it seems. You need to have a cake ready to decorate. I used a cake covered in white fondant but you can also use a cake covered in a smooth layer of buttercream. Then you are ready to decorate.

The Hot Tamales really take these snickerdoodles to the next level. The fragrant sweet cinnamon flavor of the classic snickerdoodle is given an extra spicy cinnamon-y kick by the addition of the spicy candies. These are the perfect cookies for true cinnamon lovers.

Chocolate Rainbow Cake

It is time for Parshat Noach and we needed a new rainbow cake, one for those of us not into making 7 layers of different colored cakes (too much work for me). Plus I prefer a simple chocolate bundt cake. Then all I had to do was decorate with all my colorful Mike and Ike's and for fun I added some rice krispie treats for extra effect. You can make this any time and you can even make one pretty and give the other half to the kids to make their own.

Bean and Corn Salad with Pears and Mike and Ike

October 21st 2013By Tamar Genger MA, RD

I created this dish for a chopped style challenge the kosher connection link up team did. We had to use canned corn, pears and Mike and Ike candies. I used to make this salad without the pears or candy and thought they would be a nice addition. You can certainly leave either one out, but the candies did add a surprisingly nice flavor and maybe will get your kids to eat it.
