Split Pea Soup – Pressure Cooker

I used to make this soup as an all day affair, now I can make it in less than hour.

Times

  • Prep Time : 5 min
  • Cook Time : 20 min
  • Ready Time : 25 min

Servings

8 s

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 Clove garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1 lb bag baby carrots, chopped
  • 1 lb. bag of dry split peas
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 package of Sazon seasoning mix (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 cups Water

Directions

Preparation

1 Heat pressure cooker pot with oil until hot. Saute onion and garlic on medium until translucent.
2 Add the rest of the ingredients, cover and bring up to pressure. Cook for 20 minutes and then turn off the heat to allow the pressure to slowly release.
3 Serve immediately.
