Speedy Mushroom and Sausage Pasta

Easy weeknight dinner combining pasta, sauce and sausage links. You can even make this with veggie sausage if you like. Serve with a side salad and dinner can be ready fast.

Times

  • Prep Time : 5 min
  • Cook Time : 20 min
  • Ready Time : 25 min

Servings

4

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces (about 3 cups) bow-tie pasta, uncooked
  • 1 pound sweet Italian sausage links, cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 12 ounces (about 3-3/4 cups) white button mushrooms
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup Chopped onion
  • 2 cups prepared marinara sauce

Directions

1 Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Meanwhile, in large skillet cook sausage until browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
2 Remove; set aside. Drain off all but 1 tablespoon fat or add oil to make 1 tablespoon; heat until hot.
3 Add mushrooms, green pepper and onion; cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, 5 to 7 minutes.
4 Add reserved sausage and marinara sauce; cook until heated through, about 5 minutes. Ladle sauce over hot pasta.

yes – i agree with susan’s comment about the cheese!
also, just my own FYI, whenever i see a recipe for sausage, if it looks good, i substitute hot dogs. they are always in my freezer so no need for extra shopping trip if i want to make the recipe right away. like tonight…because this sounds good and i know i have fresh mushrooms in my fridge waiting to be cooked!

  3. Hi, I am Kosher. I don’t understand how you have Italian sausage in a recipe?
