Smore’s Brownies

Smore’s Brownies
A deliciously easy and crowd pleasing favorite. I've included the recipe for the low-fat version of the Duncan Hines version, feel free to use the regular instead. I find that my guests can't tell the difference, and with the added ingredients with the smores, the low-fat version helps offset the added calories.

- Ready Time : 0 min
Servings
Ingredients
- 2 Graham cracker pie crusts
- 1 Box Duncan Hines Brownie mix
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 bar chocolate
- 1 bag marshmallows
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350.
Add the egg, water and unsweetened apple sauce and mix well in a bowl.
Pour the brownie mix evenly into the two graham cracker crusts and bake as you would normally for brownies, it takes a bit longer in the crusts, about 45 minutes, but start checking around the 30 minute mark with a toothpick to ensure the brownies are cooked through completely.
Remove the brownies and let them cool completely.
Preheat your broiler and break chunks of the chocolate bars on top of the brownies and then add the marshmallows.
After the broiler is preheated put the brownies on the bottom shelf of your oven. It should only take 3-5 minutes to brown the marshmallows, I suggest keeping your oven light on and watching it for those few minutes to make sure the brownies don’t burn.

Yes I have, I made the S’mores Brownies.
I have 4 grandchildren and each one is a “picky” eater. It’s hard to make
one recipe that they all like and that includes desserts. I decided to make
the S’mores Brownies because it was an easy recipe, one that I could make
with our 5 year old granddaughter Malia and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t
like S’mores. We bought pre-made graham cracker crusts, a box of brownie
mix and some marshmallows. How easy is that? They loved it and were very
curious to taste a whole pie of S’mores! It was a winner and one that they
remember and ask for again, already!
Thanks for sharing a fun, easy and likable dessert!
