Raw Date Brownies

Try my raw, flour-less brownie which is sweet and rich, made up of ground nuts and dates to make the perfect brownie texture, and has a kick of rich dutch cocoa and espresso.

  • Prep Time : 15 min
  • Ready Time : 15 min

16 Servings

  • 1 1/2 cups unsalted roasted pecans
  • 1 cup unsalted roasted almonds
  • 2 1/2 cups dates, pitted
  • 3/4 cup Dutch cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp instant espresso powder
  • 1 tsp salt (kosher or sea salt)
  • 1/2 cup crushed pecans and cocoa powder for sprinkling

Things You’ll need:

Line a 9 x 13 pan with parchment paper.

Prepare 2 separate Large bowls. Food Processor

Combine pecans and almonds in a food processor until crumbly and ground. Add cocoa powder, espresso powder, and salt. pulse until combined. Pour mixture into a large bowl and set aside.

Pour the dates into the food processor. Process until the dates are small bits. Transfer the date mixture to the second large bowl. Pour the nut mixture back into the food processor. Slowly add scoopfuls of date mixture while processing the nuts. Once you have a dough consistency (if you do not have a doughy consistency add more dates), transfer date dough into a pan spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle pan with ½ cup crushed pecans. Let the brownies chill in freezer for 1/2 hour before cutting.
