I love this recipe, no added refined sugar. Raspberries are too hard to clean from bugs and present a Kashruth problem. Is there another fruit we can use that would complement the peaches?

  2. I use frozen raspberries, which under many kosher certifying agencies, eliminates the bug issues.

If that doesn’t work for, you, try blueberries. Peaches and blueberries are best friends !

According to most kashrus organizations, if it will be blended fully, it doesn’t matter.

I enjoy getting these recipes but it would be really nice if an “Israeli” version also appeared. Yes, we have peaches but most of us do not have blueberries or raspberries. This goes for a lot of ingredients in recipes. Maybe some of the products are available in Jerusalem, but in the rest of the country, they are either very hard (and expensive) to find or impossible to find.

    • We do have a category of recipes for Israeli friendly you can browse through and I had a volunteer helping to go back and categorize more since I don’t live there yet to know these things, but I will have to get her to focus more, you can see those here http://www.joyofkosher.com/specialty/israeli-friendly-recipes/ and while I would love to have two separate lists for our recipe of the day we just don’t have the man power.
