Lemon Kissed Salt

This keeps for a few months so your host can enjoy it as a finishing salt on fish or poultry and vegetable dishes long after the party is over. This year, instead of grabbing a last minute bottle of wine, come prepared with this fantastically-easy yet super-thoughtful homemade treat that is sure to spruce up the feast no matter what the cuisine. Guests can take latkes to the next level with a gentle sprinkling of lemon-kissed salt,

  • Prep Time : 5 min
  • Cook Time : 1 hour, 10 min
  • Ready Time : 1 hour, 15 min

1 1/2 cups

  • 1 cup flaky salt (such as Maldon)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest

Preheat oven to 225˚F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.  Mix salt and zest together, making sure they are well combined.
Pour salt mixture onto baking sheet and bake about 70 minutes or until zest is completely dried out.
When salt has cooled, pulse a few times in a food processor for a smoother consistency.
Divide among small glass jars if gifting. May be stored for 3-4 months in an airtight container.
