Lamb Supreme Cholent

  • 3 lbs of lamb
  • 4 carrots sliced up
  • 2 onions diced
  • 3 potatoes peeled and cut up into 2 inch cubes
  • 3 tsp cinnnamon
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. saffron
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Pereg spice for meatballs
  • 1 1/2 tsp Freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil



Lightly brown the lamb in 2 tbsp. of olive oil and place it into the crockpot.

Using the same pan, saute the onions with all the spices. Place onions into the crockpot as well.

Add carrots, potatoes and the prune mixture with the water into the crockpot. Make sure the meat is covered in water.  Sprinkle the salt and honey on top.  Let cook and enjoy shabbat day!

    QUESTION: Is there an ingredient missing after the garlic powder? The recipe calls for a prune mixture — I don’t see prunes in the recipe.

  2. I’m with Carolsilk. I would love to try this recipe, but there are ingredients missing. Help?
