Hand-made ice cream
This is a fun way to make small amounts of ice cream, especially when you don't have an ice cream maker. It is creamy and simple, and my children think it is a great treat to make and eat!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (or flavor of choice)
- 1 tablespoon granulated white sugar
- 1 cup Ice cubes
- 6 tablespoons rock salt (kosher salt will work also)
- 1 pint sized ziploc-style bag
- 1 gallon sized ziploc-style bag
Directions
Preparation
1 Put ice in in gallon bag until halfway full.
2 Add salt and set aside.
3 Pour milk, sugar and vanilla extract in pint bag. Seal tightly.
4 Place pint bag inside gallon bag and seal tightly.
5 Shake bags for 6-8 minutes or until milk mixture (pint bag) has thickened to desired ice cream consistency.
6 Remove pint bag from gallon bag and enjoy your cool, creamy treat!
