Recipe

Grilled Bananas Foster

This pareve version of Bananas Foster is prepared on the grill. It has so much flavor that the ice cream isn't needed, but could be added if desired.

Times

  • Prep Time : 5 min
  • Cook Time : 5 min
  • Ready Time : 10 min

Servings

2

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas Firm. Not quite ripe.
  • 1.5 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 - 1/4 cup dark rum

Directions

Peel bananas and cut in half lengthwise. Set aside.

Melt coconut oil in bowl in the microwave or on in a small pan on the stove top. The bowl or pan should be wide enough to hold the bananas, and shallow. Mix in the brown sugar. Mix in enough rum so the brown sugar is encorporated, but the mixture is still thick enough to coat the bananas.

Rub each banana halve in the sugar & rum mixture, coating all sides.

Grill until outside has carmelized and inside is hot. About 5 minutes, depending on grill temperature.
