Servings
Ingredients
- 3 large red grapefruit
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- ¼ cup mint leaves, optional
Directions
Cut a small ½-inch slice off top and bottom of grapefruit. With a curved motion, use your knife to slice the peel away from the side of the citrus from top to bottom. Repeat all the way around the entire fruit until all peel and pith is gone. Lay peeled fruit on its side and slice into ¼-inch thick slices. Repeat with remaining fruit.
Lay sliced grapefruit on a greased sheet pan in a single layer. Sprinkle with sugar. Broil for 8 to 12 minutes, until sugar is caramelized and dark brown. Transfer to serving plates. Drizzle with vinegar and garnish with mint.

I love the combination of grapefruit and balsamic. This looks fantastic.
balsamic and mint over citrus? A winning combo, for sure. It would be lovely with oranges, also.
I love love love grilled grapefruit. With yogurt too.
This sounds amazing. I love grilled fruit but have never tried grapefruit. I love it!
