Ginger Simple Syrup

Spice up your drinks with a gingery simple syrup. Easy to make and will last a few weeks in the fridge.

  • Prep Time : 5 min
  • Cook Time : 10 min
  • Ready Time : 15 min

1 cup

Roughly grate a 3-inch knob of peeled ginger root and put in a saucepan with a cup of water and a cup of sugar.

Slowly bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes. Cool, then strain through a fine sieve. Can be stored, tightly covered, in a jar in the refrigerator for several weeks.
