Easy Yerushalmi Kugel

delicious and easy to make

  • Prep Time : 10 minutes min
  • Cook Time : 50 minutes min
  • Ready Time : 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups water
  • 3/4 stick margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 12 ounces thin noodles
  • 3 talbespoons brown sugar
  • 2 talbespoons oil

Directions

Add margarine, sugar, salt and pepper to water and boil. Add noodles to boiled water along with beaten eggs, brown sugar, and oil.
Mix ingredients and put in bundt pan. Let stand for 10 minutes covered. Bake at 350 degrees (uncovered) for about 50 minutes.

  1. This recipe really did not work out for me.
    Is it supposed to be extremely watery? Or was I supposed to drain the water?

  2. Please check the ingredients and directions as one cook said it came out too watery. I hate to waste my time and ingredients…..

    Before I got this far on the page, I realized it wasn’t going to work.
    The way I would adjust the recipe is:
    #1 Boil 4 cups of water add the noodles, cook no longer than two minutes, and drain, don’t rinse.
    #2 Melt the oleo in the 1/2 cup water.
    #3 Add everything but the noodles and mix until everything is dissolved.
    #4 Blend the liquid into the noodles carefully. Put the noodle mix in a pan and cover it with foil.
    #5 Bake the kugel at 325 degrees. Check it after 30 minutes. Remember, you’re not evaporating excess water.
