Dirt Cookies

• 2-1/4 cups :flour
• 1 teaspoon :baking soda
• 1 teaspoon :salt
• 1 cup :white sugar
• 1/2 cup :brown sugar
• 1 cup :butter
• 2 :eggs
• 1 teaspoon :vanilla extract
• 1-1/2 cups :chocolate sandwich cookies Oreos™ (about 20 cookies)

Preparation

1. ift together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
2. In a medium bowl, cream the white sugar, brown sugar, and the butter together until smooth.
3. Stir in the egg and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
4. Place the chocolate cookies in a heavy ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin until the pieces are mostly about the size of peas.
5. Stir the crushed cookies into the dough. Cover and chill the dough for 1/2 hour. Preheat the oven to 375.
6. Grease cookie sheets.
7. Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheet.
8. Bake for 10 to 11 minutes in the preheated oven.
9. Remove to cool on wire racks.
