Classic Marshmallow Frosting

Perfect filling for whoopie pies.


  • Prep Time : 15 min
  • Ready Time : 15 min


1 1/2 cups


  • 1 cup Marshmallow fluff
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 cup sifted confectioner's sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


Using an electric mixer, beat together the marshmallow fluff, milk and shortening, starting on low and gradually increasing the speed until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.  Reduce the speed to low, add the sugar and vanilla, and beat until blended.  Increase the speed to medium and beat for 1-2 more minutes.
