Chocolate Lover’s Napoleon

If you like chocolate you’ll love this dessert. In addition, if you are looking for a decadent, crowd pleasing dessert that is easy to prepare, this recipe is for you.

  • Prep Time : 15 min
  • Ready Time : 15 min

  • 2 packages instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups soy milk
  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate melted in the microwave or oven (optional)
  • 8 oz. non dairy whipping cream
  • 2 packages of chocolate graham crackers

Chocoalte Sauce

  • 6 oz. chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or non dairy whipping cream

Slowly stir pudding mix into three cups of soy milk, mixing until slightly thickened and fully incorporated. (Add the cooled melted chocolate.)

Whip the cream and fold pudding mix into the whipped cream.

Layer the crackers in 9×13 baking pan and top with half of the chocolate mixture.

Layer the chocolate graham crackers on top of chocolate mixture and layer again with graham crackers.

Prepare the chocolate sauce – In a small saucepan, heat ½ cup whipping cream on medium/low heat so that it comes to a simmer.
Take off heat.  Add chocolate and mix until chocolate fully melts.

Top napoleon with chocolate sauce.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Another option: leave the chocolate sauce near or on top of a warm stove and serve the chocolate sauce warm on individual plates when serving. This elevates the look and taste of the dessert.

I live in israel, what can i substitute for the chocolate graham crackers?

    • chocolate tea biscuits are the closest to the graham crackers so it will work but it wont have the same taste/texture

In the directions it says” Layer the chocolate graham crackers on top of chocolate mixture and layer again with graham crackers.” Your suppose to do two layers of graham crackers on top of each other?

I have used this recipe quite a few years ago and it was very good…however, your directions here for the sequence of layers is rather confusing….the photo shows 2 layers of the filling and yet the recipe looks as though there is only one layer of it and a double layer of the crackers on top.

Made it for Shabbat and put it in the freezer, like an ice cream cake. It was delicious.
