Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is my basic cookie recipe I use all the time, I often make it with whole wheat flour and it has a lot of oats so it feels a little better.

  • Prep Time : 15 min
  • Cook Time : 12 min
  • Ready Time : 27 min

6 dozen

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 21/2 cops oats, blended
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 11/2 cups chocolate chips

1 Preheat oven to 350. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Cream margarine and sugars with a mixer. When fluffy, add eggs and vanilla.
2 Mix in other ingredients. Spoon out large balls of dough and place 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet.
3 Baked for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
4 Tip: you can freeze the dough in portioned out balls and only make as many as you want at a time. There is nothing like fresh cookies.

  1. These cookies are GREAT! I substituted butter for the margarine with no problem and the recipe made about six dozen of the most delectable cookies ! It would have made EXACTLY six dozen if the “cookie dough taster” had not struck…Thanks for the recipe Tamar!
