Chicken or Turkey Hummus

  • Prep Time : 5 min
  • Cook Time : 15 min
  • Ready Time : 20 min

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for garnish
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 pounds ground chicken or turkey
  • 2 tablespoons turmeric
  • 2 tablespoons cumin
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Hummus for serving
  • Paprika, for garnish
  • Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish

Heat olive oil in a large saute pan over medium high heat. Add the onions and saute until translucent. Add chicken and break up into small pieces with a wooden spoon. Add turmeric and cumin and cook until chicken is browned and cooked through. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

To serve, spread hummus to the edges of a large plate using the back of a spoon and drizzle with olive oil. Pile turkey in the center. Sprinkle with a light dusting of paprika and a few fresh cilantro leaves.

Made using turkey. But instead of putting the hummus on a plate I spread it on a wrap the kind coscto sells they’re a little thicker. Also I sliced up some black olives and sprinkled alittle fresh lemon juice on top. Real easy and great even at room temperature.

    • as usual Tzivia – yum yum yum!!! you have elevated this starter into a complete meal!
