simple challah recipe that shows anyone can make a great tasting challah

Ingredients
- 2 packs active dry yeast
- 2 cups warm water
- 1 egg beaten
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 8 tablespoons oil
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
Directions
preheat over to 340 dregrees.
mix 2 packs of yeast with warm water. let sit for 5 minutes until foams.
add sugar and salt and half flour. mix together a bit and the add oil with the egg and slowly add the remaining flower. kneed dough for a few minutes.
spray a bowl with pam and be sure to cover all sides. put dough inside and cover with plastic. let rise until doubles in size.
spray baking sheet with pam and sprinkle cornmeal. braid dough (i use a 4 braid challah) let sit 30 minutes. place challah on baking sheet. mix egg with water and brush the challah.
make sugar topping and sprinkle on challah.
bake at 340 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown. remove to wire rack to cool completly.












This recipe only calls for 1 cup of flour? That must be a mistake.
