Bourbon Sage London Broil

This recipe creates a marinade, that is then boiled. I believe this to be safe, but some do not. If you do not want to reuse the marinade, then just marinade the meat in bourbon and discard. Use the marinade just for the sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1 C Jack Daniels Whiskey
  • 2 /3 c soy sauce
  • 1/2 C Lime Juice
  • 2 T Worcestershire Sauce (Make sure it is not OU-Fish)
  • Few Sprigs Fresh Sage
  • 1 London Broil

Preparation

Preparation

1 Put all the liquids in a zip lock bag
2 Add the sugar, seal and shake until mixed
3 Remove the sage leaves from the stem, tear and add
4 Place london broil in the bag and let marinade for 4 hours or over night
5 In a cast iron skillet (or any skillet) Heat on high. I use the burner attached to my grill
6 Place a drop of oil or margarine and heat, sear meat for 2 minutes on each side then place on grill preheated to medium. Cook to desired doneness
7 After meat is removed from the pan, add marinade to the pan, carefully. Bourbon is flammable.
8 Bring to a boil then reduce to medium low, until it reduces by half.
9 Slice meat with the grain, on a bias and served with reduction.
