Babi’s Delicious Cookies

Growing up this defined a visit to my grandmother. She always had them stored in an old metal tin in her freezer. We would beg to be allowed to eat a second one.

Times

Prep Time : 45 min
Cook Time : 20 min
Ready Time : 1 hour, 5 min

Servings

Ingredients

4 sticks margarine
4 egg yolks
1 1/2 cups orange juice
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
5 cups flour
1 egg mixed with water for washing

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350.

2. Cream the margarine and sugar. Then combine all of the remaining ingredients.

3. Roll out on flour and cut using a cookie cutter!

4. Then brush each cookie with egg wash mixture and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

how many cookies does this make? a whole pound of margarine is a lot of trans fats – hope you’re using non hydrogenated nowadays
