Avocado and White American Cheese Melt

This sandwich works best with over ripe avocados- which is how I created it! I was trying to think of something to make using my last, super ripe avocado and this was delicious!


  • Prep Time : 5 min
  • Cook Time : 5 min
  • Ready Time : 10 min




  • 1/2 overripe avocado
  • 2 slices rye bread
  • 2 slices white American cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt


Scoop out 1/2 of an overripe avocado, smear it on one piece of rye bread. Sprinkle garlic salt over avocado and place cheese slices on top. Close sandwich and broil for 3-4 minutes. Flip sandwich and broil for 1 additional minute.
Eat hot and melt-y!
