Apple Sage Sausage Stuffing
I used veggie sausage mostly because it was what I could find. It came out so good I wouldn't change it.

Servings
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp. oil
- 1 tube veggie sausage
- 1 tbsp. fresh sage, chopped finely
- 2 apples, peeled and chopped
- 1 celery rib, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 cups broth
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 3 cups day old bread cubes (I like to use whole wheat)
Directions
Preparation
1 Heat oil in pan over medium high heat. Add sausage and sage and cook until browned. Pour over bread cubes.
2 Add onion to pan, saute 2 minutes, add apples, celery and salt. Cook 2 minutes and then add broth and parsley until heated.
3 Pour mixture over bread cubes and mix thoroughly .
4 Pour bread into greased baking 9×13 baking pan and bake in oven for about 1 hour. If desired, pour over the suffing some turkey pan drippings.
