Ingredients

  • 8 cups apples, peeled, cored, sliced 2 L
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed 60 mL
  • 1 Tbsp all purpose flour 15 mL
  • 1 tsp cinnamon 5 mL
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 375 mL
  • 1 1/2 cups oatmeal 375 mL
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed 250 mL
  • 1 tsp baking soda 5 mL
  • 1/2 tsp salt 2 mL
  • 1 cup margarine, softened 250 mL

1 Preheat oven to 350F (180C).
2 Place the sliced apples in a 9x13 inch (22x33 cm) pan. Mix the brown sugar 1 Tbsp (15 mL) flour and ground cinnamon together, and sprinkle over apples.
3 In a bowl combine the flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Cut in the margarine until mixture is crumbly. Spread evenly over the apple mixture. Bake for about 45 minutes.
