Dried Fruit Compote

Open your mouth and close your eyes and you will believe you are in Istanbul. The dried fruit plumped up by a two day soaking and flavored with honey and rosewater is delicious, refreshing and the perfect end to any meal. Eat it with whole milk thick yogurt or spoon it over ice cream with a dairy meal.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • 1 cup dried apricots (6 ounce package)
  • 4 ounces pitted prunes
  • 2/3 cup golden raisins
  • 7 ounce package figs-cut into quarters
  • 2 tablespoons pine nuts
  • 2/3 cup slivered almonds
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons rosewater

Directions

Pour all dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Pour honey and rosewater over fruit and nuts. Mix well. Cover all ingredients with water. Mix well. Cover mixing bowl and refrigerate for two days. Serve fruit compote chilled.
