I have recently moved back to the city and house I grew up in to take care of my elderly mother. I am a teacher and I greatly enjoy working with children. Prior to teaching I was a social worker. I joined this site because I find it very challenging to cook healthy meals for my mother who has a sweet tooth. Since my mother is borderline diabetic I got strict instructions from my mother's doctor to limit foods with sugar and carbohydrates. So now I am trying to take care of my mother's needs while preparing nutritious foods that she would enjoy. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place.
