Cooking in my mother's kitchen with my sisters we together discovered that most great recipes can be improvised on the spot. Especially when you find yourself halfway through making blueberry muffins without the ingredients. Those early lessons have still stuck with me, and to this day, I think I can name only a handful of recipes that I follow to the letter.
