FAQ

What is joyofkosher?
Whether you keep kosher or are just kosher-curious, joyofkosher is an online community for people with good taste who are passionate about food featuring thousands of gourmet and everyday kosher recipes searchable by category (dairy, meat or pareve), cuisine, course, and/or holiday.

Joyofkosher also offers mouth-watering menu ideas for Shabbat dinner and all Jewish holidays.
When we are not in the kitchen, we love to go out to eat and we need your help updating and developing the largest kosher restaurant database in the world.

The joyofkosher blogs include new articles weekly, where we feature interviews with chefs, health and nutrition experts, cookbook authors, winemakers and other Jewish food personalities. The joyofkosher Community pages are where our members can express themselves by helping others, asking questions and learning new tricks and tips in and around the kitchen.

Why should I be a member?

We take the idea of a community seriously. We are not born knowing how to cook. Our tastes are shaped by our grandparents, parents, chefs, cookbook authors, television personalities, Shabbat guests and complete strangers. We want to create a place where a Bubbie from Brooklyn can share a recipe for brisket with a bride in Boston. Our member pages allow you to share a little information about yourself – favorite restaurants, favorite cities, favorite cookbooks and share your favorite joyofkosher recipes, menus, and restaurants. Members can share recipes with friends and family with a click of the mouse and send recipes to their cell phone.

How much does it cost to be a member?

Absolutely nothing. Membership is free.

Are all your recipes kosher?
We hope so! We make every attempt to ensure that the recipes posted on joyofkosher are strictly kosher. If you come across a recipe that does not meet generally accepted standards of kashrut, please contact us at info@joyofkosher.com, so we can immediately edit or remove the recipe from the site.
