The laws of the Sabbatical year whereby on the seventh year, the land is granted a year of rest, is told in this week's parsha. The Children of Israel are promised that with faith and fidelity, the sixth year will produce enough produce to sustain them through the seventh. After seven cycles, there is a great celebration to commemorate the Jubilee Year. It includes a release of debts, freedom for slaves and servants and a time to rest from the toil of harvest and planting. This week let's all rest a little bit with an incredibly easy Shabbat menu that should take less than an hour to prepare.

SALMON CROQUETTES

Herbed Salmon Cutlets

Starting with a salmon gefilte load makes this recipe come together super fast.  Serve alone or with a salad for a yummy first course.

CHICKEN RATATOUILLE

Chicken Ratatouille

I would start by making this chicken, prep all in the pan and throw in the oven, while this is cooking make everything else.

BATRIK - TOMATO BULGUR SALAD

This no cook salad is perfect when you want an extra flavorful healthy side dish.

And for dessert, try an easy pudding parfait.
