Green tea is one of the healthiest drinks on the planet, you can find it on store shelves and on restaurant menus - not just at your local Starbucks!
What makes it so healthy?
Green tea is rich in antioxidants, helps keep blood sugar stable and can lower both cholesterol and blood pressure. Really, the list goes on and on!
But not everyone loves the grassy flavor of freshly brewed green tea (myself included) so I’m here to help you enhance the flavor with natural sweeteners like juicy peaches, fresh ginger, honey and mint.
These Green Tea Poached Peaches are a lovely Summer dessert topped with pistachios, orange zest, fresh mint and a little sugar but you can also eat them for breakfast with plain Greek yogurt and a drizzle of honey! No reason to be intimidated by the word “poach”. It literally means to cook something without it’s shell in boiling liquid. So really, all you have to do is simmer peeled peaches (pears would be delicious also) in a sweet green tea broth and that’s it!
How can I put into words the affection I have for this Green Tea Oatmeal?!?
Cooking the quick cooking oats in green tea and unsweetened almond milk, along with honey and almond extract, adds more flavor than you can even imagine. The best part about this oatmeal?
Adding all of the toppings!
Shredded coconut, raw almonds, crystallized ginger and fresh mint. This is definitely the healthiest oatmeal I have ever made. Going green has never tasted so good!
