Woot: Jura-Capresso 10-Cup Coffee Maker. $69.99. It must be really nice not to have much to do during the day. Take those people with those adorable little single cup coffee makers, for example. They must have all the time in the world to choose their pretty little coffee cups and pick out their fancy-flavored plastic pod of coffee with names like “Caramel Wake Up Call” or “Donut Shop Classic.” Then, they stand around smelling it before taking just the teeny-weeniest sip as they stare into the bright, boring morning they’re just so happy to be a part of.
And then there are the rest of us with one hundred emails to answer, thirty projects to finish, and several meetings to try to stay awake through. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather just get to work than waste time trying to find the last of the “French Vanilla Sunshine.” Just hand me a full stainless steel thermal vacuum carafe of cheap black coffee from my Jura-Capresso 10-Cup Coffee Maker and let me do my thing.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to open my day with caffeinated tar or nothing, but a replaceable charcoal water filter that removes up to 82% of chlorine and other impurities is about as fancy as I need. In just under eight minutes, I’m taking heavy swigs from the drip-free pouring spout while other folks are still picking out their creamer. And there’s no fiddling with pods here. I fill the GoldTone filter at night, set the timer, and in the morning, I’ve got a great big pot of Productivity Juice to chug.
Waking up and smelling the coffee? Not on my agenda. But you kids have fun sniffing your cup of Barely Coffee. The rest of us have work to do.
