Mad Men is back!!!  Mad Men fans every where are eagerly awaiting the 2 hour premiere next week.

Even Banana Republic is getting into the act — they are debuting a 1960’s themed line of springtime clothing that will turn more heads than Joan at a holiday party.

Mad Men premiered in 2007, it is period piece set in the 1960s about New York advertising men working on Madison Avenue, hence the name Mad Men.  The show highlights the culture wars and social mores of the era, rampant cigarette smoking (even during meals), drinking (even during lunch), sexism (all the time), feminism, adultery, homophobia, and racism.   It is fascinating to watch a time period unfold on TV that sometimes appears so different from today, but in many ways as a society we are still fighting the same battles at home, at work and at play.

The two-hour-long season premiere of “Mad Men” airs Sunday, March 25, at 9 p.m. (8 central) on AMC, so let’s celebrate with our friends at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce with some Mad Men inspired dishes from the swingin’ 60s!
