This Month’s Recipe contest calls for your Pumpkin Recipes – Savory or Sweet, Soup or Main or even Dessert!

If you missed last month – click here to see more on the Takes the Cake Recipe Contest.

This month, with the holidays behind us, and winter drawing close, we are calling for your favorite pumpkin recipes. Please SUBMIT your recipe and then link to it in the comments down below. If you have already submitted a perfect pumpkin recipe, you can enter it by linking to it in the comments below. Enter as many recipes as you would like. Perhaps it’s your Perfect Pumpkin Pie or Delicious Pumpkin Soup? All pumpkin recipes submitted to this site between November 1st and November 14th 2011 will automatically be entered (Make sure to have PUMPKIN in the title).

PLEASE NOTE – the recipes must be submitted using the online form HERE or they will not be entered into the contest. Please link to submitted recipe in the comments below.

After November 14th 2011 the JoyofKosher team will pick the top five finalists from the pumpkin recipes submitted. We will make all five of those dishes and by November 22nd  2011 we will choose two recipes to go head-to-head for the top prize. You, our readers, will get to vote on who takes home the prize. Voting will take place from November 22nd 9 am EST until November 30th 9 am EST.

    Pumpkin Bread – easy and delicious. Can be doubled

    1/2 teaspoon clove
    1 3/4 cups flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    3/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1/2 cup oil
    1 eggs
    1/3 cup water
    1 cup pumpkin
    1Combine all dry ingredients and mix. Then mix all the wet ingredients. Combine the two. Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean

    This soup is an annual fall favorite in our house. We’re lucky enough to live in an area with a great variety of fresh apples and fresh-pressed cider. Visit your farmers market and support your local farmers!
