Yom Haatzmaut falls this year on Tuesday May 10 2011. Traditionally Yom Haatzmaut is a day off from work for Israelis, a day to spend with family and celebrate Israel’s Independence Day – this year is Israel’s 63rd birthday!

In honor of this special day we bring you a round up of our Israeli recipes – everything you need for an authentic Israeli feast.

    I think the main thing missing from the list is Grilled Meat! I’ll make sure to take some pictures and post my secret recipe for Israeli Grilled Chicken Wings, Moroccan grilled kebabs, and my “can’t have a BBQ without the pitas, grilled pitas”. As in israel Yom Hatazmaot could be called national BBQ day, all of Am Yisrael takes to the parks, beaches and backyards for a day full of grilled protein!
