My Husband is the most amazing Balabus. From the beginning of our marriage (of 7 years) he’s always been the cook in the family. Yes, I’ll help in kitchen but he’s the boss in that portion of the house. When we were first married, i was working crazy hours that got me home late on Thursday nights, and only an hour before shabbat on Fridays. So needless to say he was the one who took over the cooking. Otherwise, we’d starve. It would make for an easy way to avoid the “freshman fifteen” people often referred to as the weight gain during Shannah Rishona.
Anyway, the way things worked out made us quite popular with our young community. Wives were jealous, husbands hated us. But thank G-d for our charmer personalities….right? From the start, he was a great cook. He loved it. So who was I to get in the way of a good thing? Today, 7 years later, aside from an amazing cook, chazzan, music producer, and most of all- husband and father….he’s still creating the best meals in the ‘hood.
He’ll hate the attention if you call him up. What kind of wife would I be if i didn’t like to watch my husband squirm?!
