Have a Kosher Superbowl Party
So the Packers and the Steelers will go at it in the Superbowl next Sunday — and you and I will be putting together a super-duper Superbowl Party. Of course, I never take sides. (Go, Steelers!)
Be smart. Let your fans enjoy a great game along with great food, but don’t chain yourself to the kitchen. You want to be out there cheering with the rest of ‘em. Time to go Quick & Kosher.
At the start of sports season I wrote a post with tips for Game Day Entertaining and I also wrote about the last year’s Superbowl. There are some great suggestions on both pages, so feel free to look them over. I don’t need to remind you that you need something easy to eat and that plates will be balanced on laps. Be prepared for quick cleanups too: plates might be upended when a touchdown is scored and the crowd jumps for joy.
In addition to the suggestions on those pages, here are some fab football finger foods:
• Buffalo Sliders with Crispy Onion Rings
• Guinness Marinated Bison Steak Sandwiches
• Hot and Spicy Turkey Wings
• Deli Roll Pinwheels with Chopped Salad
• Roast Beef Sandwiches with White Bean Salad
• Turkey Chili with Loaded Cornbread Muffins

For some pareve options at the party try:
• Avocado and Seared Tuna Steak Salad
• Warm Pepper and Craisin Salad
• Fish Bites
• Crispy Artichoke Hearts
• Papaya Guacamole

Going dairy? How about baking up some pizza or some potato skins? Try:
• Margherita Pizza with Pesto Salad
• Butternut Squash Arugula Pizza with Salad
• Roasted Vegetable Pizza
• Zippy Potato Skins
What do YOU like to serve at your Superbowl party? Let me know what went over best with your crowd!

Tuna steak and fish bites are vegetarian?
Hey Mark, good catch – technically you are right. Although when I was a veggie I did eat fish but I guess I wasn’t a veggie then in the true sense
How about we change that to Pareve menu? And if you really want some great authentic vegetarian recipes try my tofu peanut thai salad from my first book and my stir fried tofu with soba noodles recipe from book two. Good looking out!
