Happy Passover!

Here we are, calmly greeting the day of the first seder and relaxing as we pass the hours till “kick off.”  This year, even the usual last minute details are complete and we’re ready with plenty of time to spare thanks to the wonderful tips from Passover prep expert and Professional Organizer, Rivka Slatkin.  I want to thank Rivka for helping to bring some “seder” (order) to our seders and for taking the anxiety out of our pre-Pesach build-up. On behalf of Rivka and everyone at Kosher.com, I want to wish you all a happy, kosher and sweet Passover!

For posterity (and next year) here’s a roundup of last week’s tips:

Tip #19: Final cleaning—get your vacuum cleaner running
Recipe #19: “Forgotten” Macaroons

Tip #20: Prepare and cook foods that you prefer to refrigerate rather than freeze
Recipe #20: Smoked Salmon Rolls

Tip #21: Prepare seder plate items in advance
Recipe #21: Lemon Ice

Tip #22: Only kosher-for-Passover for shabbat
Recipe #22: Chocolate-Covered Matzos

Tip #23: Final changeovers
Recipe #23: Berry Brulée

Tip #24: Set up guest areas and set your seder table
Recipe #24: Homemade Chocolate Fondue

Jamie Geller is the only cookbook author who wants to get you out of the kitchen – not because she doesn’t love food – but because she has tons to do. As “The Bride Who Knew Nothing” Jamie found her niche as everybody’s favorite cook next-door. Specializing in scrumptious meals that are a snap to prepare, she authored the Quick & Kosher Cookbook series and is co- founder of the Kosher Media Network, which recently launched the Joy of Kosher with Jamie Geller magazine and companion website JoyofKosher.com, a social network for foodies. Jamie hosts the popular Quick & Kosher cooking show online at youtube.com/joyofkosher and on-air on JLTV. Jamie and her “hubby” live in Israel. Their five children give her plenty of reasons to get out of the kitchen — fast.
